Welcome to Cuba! Today we arrive in Havana and settle into our B&B accommodations in Havana. Upon arrival at the airport we will meet our Cuban tour leader and driver who will be with us throughout our stay. After we have settled in and relaxed after the long flight we will go for a ride in some of Cuba's classic cars and tour some of its many neighborhoods and ride the famous Malecon as the sun sets. On our way to dinner we will stop at the famous Hotel Nacional. Our first night we will have our welcome dinner with our guide. Meals Included: Dinner


First thing in the morning we will have a walking tour of Old Havana and walk in the footsteps of Havana's colonial past visiting the 4 plazas of Old Havana, a UNESCO world heritage site. Visit Plaza de Armas, Plaza San Francisco de Asis, Plaza Vieja and Plaza de la Cathedral with our expert guide offering insightful history along the way. We will then visit the Revolution Museum, which was once the luxurious Pre-Revolution Presidential Palace. After lunch we will visit the fishing village of Jaimanitas and the home of the famous artist Jose Fuster. Fuster has made his entire home, and much of the surrounding neighborhood, into an artwork using tiles in mosaic forms and is an amazing place to visit.(link)

Vinales is situated in one of the most picturesque parts of Cuba, with its limestone pincushion hills mogotes, of the Pinar del Rio province. In addition to being famous for its tobacco farms and cigar production. Enroute we will meet with our first beekeeper and visit a place where they raise queens. We will then stop at a beautiful botanical garden in Saroa and have lunch nearby. We will reach Vinales in time to tour an organic farm and learn about sustainable farming in Cuba. Here we meet our local farmer and his family who will show us around the organic farm and explain to us the methods used to cultivate crops without the use of pesticides. Back at the house, lend a hand and learn hands on how they farm here. With the beautiful sunset as our backdrop, we will enjoy a deliciously fresh and diverse meal prepared by the family, a truly authentic farm-to-fork experience! If there is time there are a number of interesting places we may stop and some great vista points of the whole valley including a magical private botalical garden made around a colonial home in Vinales by two older women, El Jardin de La Humanidad. Today we will learn about the tradition of Cuban cigars from a farmer and expert cigar maker. Get an insight as to how the communist system works, how much the farmers will keep, how much they will give to the government. You will learn about the process from tobacco planting to rolling the final cigar. We will visit a government separation room where the women work to separate the quality of tobacco for different types of cigars. In the afternoon we learn to cook Cuban-style with a cooking lesson from a local chef. We will accompany the chef to the local markets to buy the ingredients for our platos tipicos Cubanos like congri, potaje, garbanzo soup, ajiaco, and flan. In the evening we will visit the local street craft market and eat at a tapas restaurant(not included) Meals Included: Breakfast, Lunch

Today we will depart early on the long drive to Trinidad. We will drive to Cienfuegos and then on to a little village on the coast  where we will meet and have lunch at a beekeeper''s home. Their family has produced honey for four generations and he and his father will talk at length about beekeeping industry in Cuba. They are a delightful family and very wecoming and knowledgeable. Their home is a short walk to a beautiful beach so make sure to pack your swimsuit!  We will also try and stop at a Pharmacy that sells and produces medicinal products from honey. We will then drive on to Trinidad to check into our casa and have dinner at our house. For those who are interested that night we may walk to the plaza to hear music. Meals: Breakfast


The beautiful colonial city of Trinidad is an Unesco landmark and it is a joy to walk and explore it's cobblestoned streets. We begin with a cultural walking tour of Trinidad. In the afternoon we'll meet members of the Afro Cuban Folkloric dance group that perform Afro Cuban shows at the club Palenque to learn about the cultural and social importance that dancing has to Cuba. We will be welcomed into the venue where they train and perform before taking on a Cuban salsa class. Nightlife in Trinidad is probably the most accessible and intense in all of Cuba, with numerous live music venues and many dance performances every day of the week, all amongst the enchanting setting of old colonial buildings and the cobblestone streets. We will eat lunch on the plaza and meetand listen a delightful Cuban group.One of the member's uncles will be our beekeepr host the next day. Meals: Breakfast, Lunch


In the morning we will go up to a farm in the mountains where we will visit a local beekeeper. His nephew is a wonderful musician who will play for us in the shade as we eat our lunch. This is a really special day and was a highlight of last year's tour. Late afternoon we will go out to Playa Ancon to relax at the beach with a picnic. Meals: Breakfast, Lunch.


We will leave Trinidad to head back to Havana again via Cienfuegos and visit a beekeeper in a small town. His family are also fourth generation Cuban beekeepers. It is a very friendly relaxed town that has a large Afro-Cuban population and we will visit a very special religious temple where they will do a musical and dance presentation for us. This is not a town tourists visit and will be an opportunity to see real life in small town Cuba. We will then head back to Havana where we will have some free time to freshen up before our farewell dinner. Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner


There are no activities planned for today. Wave goodbye to the city's warm waters, colonial palaces and vintage Cadillacs before boarding your flight back to the US.
